Preparation

What you'll need
  • Smart Zigbee Gateway
  • Ethernet cable (included)
  • Power cable (included)
  • Active internet connection
  • Device with Redwoods Connect app installed, device must be on the same WiFi network to which the Smart Gateway is connected
  • Smart Gateway added to Family or Home and online

Connect ethernet cable

Plug the network cable into and active port of a router, switch or WiFi extender. Plug the other end into the Smart Gateway.

Connect power

Plug the power cord into the Smart Gateway and then connect to the power outlet.

Once the ethernet and power cords are connected a green light on top of the Gateway should start randomly blinking. This means there is a network connection. If there is no randomly blinking light it means there is no active network connection on that port.

After 60-90 seconds you should see a solid green light to the right of the randomly blinking green light light up. This indicates the Gateway is booted up and ready to pair.

Add Gateway to app

From the Home Screen in the Redwoods Connect app tap either the + icon on the top right.

Tap Gateway (ZigBee), do not select the Wireless Gateway (ZigBee) device. Tap the Confirm CONFIG IND lights on (green) button to begin the search process.

If the Smart Gateway is found it will show up within around 20 seconds. Tap the Bind button to add the Smart Gateway to the Family or Home. This will register the Smart Gateway with the AWS cloud and will take up to a minute.
